How the Cities Did – November 2011

November home prices were disappointing across the board.   The 20-City composite, which set its recent low last March, is less than one index point from setting a new low. The 10-City composite has a slightly more comfortable margin but not much.  Among the individual cities, four reached new post-boom lows: Tampa, Las Vegas, Seattle and Atlanta.  The first two are no surprise since they have been among the weakest for a long time. Seattle was doing better for awhile while Atlanta has seen sharp declines in two of the last three monthly reports.  One of the few bright surprises was Phoenix, the only city to see a gain on the month.  The table shows the current values, peak values and percentage changes for the 20 cities and the composites.
