How the Cities Did in May 2013

Cities May 2013

The table compares the highs and lows and rebounds for the 20 S&P/Case-Shiller cities for the May 2013 release published on July 29, 2013.  Two cities — Dallas and Denver — made new highs surpassing their old boom-era peaks set in 2006 and 2007.  This is the first time any cities have established peaks higher than those seen in the boom.  Despite these surprises, most cities are still well below their peak levels as the recovery continues.   Even with strong year over year performance reported earlier (see previous post of the press release) prices have more room on the upside: The 20-city index is still about 24% below its peak.  Click on the table for a larger image.
